Game Hangs after starting a new game ..please hellpp

i have metal gear solid 2substance dowloaded from net which is aroung 4.36gb with files mds,i00 and i01.iburnt it the way shown in this forum..it starts and works perfectly fine until u start a new game.after that a black screen with a question mark and a cd mark blimps.after that nothing happens.what might be the reason behind this .i have burnt it on moserbeer.dont remember the cd speed which is burnt at.i have the big ps2 black one.since i dont have this game and desperately want 2 play it.please help me out .thnkx..

I don't know that make of DVD, but you should burn it on either Sony, Fuji, Verbatim, Ritek or Taiyo Yuden, along those lines and use DVD-R and burn it at 4x or half of what your discs allow.
It could very well just be the media you burned it too.

what if i copy the entire disc 2 another disc say sony..so wil it work .because as of now i dont have the files with me..i only have that cd.so if i burn it to some other disc,then there is a possiblity of working right

Yes there is a possibility, or you could use imgburn to read the disc you have to an ISO, then reburn the ISO you just created to the new disc.
Thats how I would do it.

That should fix it using proper media. There are some great guides in the DVD or general section to read upon.
We have ended up with a few coasters at one time or another, part of the process sometimes.

I agree that there are a lot of guides that can help me..i have taken out a printout also of the thread ps2games stutterting and skipping.but since you are a member you also know that there are so many guides.but which is the most effective one,and it is also tough 2 find because we have so many pages in this forum..so if u could just give me thread name.plz..i need the game .i have been waiting 4 past 2years to get my hands on this game,and i finally did but with all these problems..so please guide me through.thnx a lot for the previous advice

My recommendation would be to first try burning this game to another DVD of good quality and DVD-R.
Another idea if that doesnt work is that it may need to be rebuilt as the TOC may be larger than swap magic.

I got maxell cd which DVD+R.i tried for DVD-R but couldnt find it.i decrpt the game from the cd and it was only 4.29gb.so i think itz not a DVD-9 game.metal gear solid 2 skate boarding is a DVD-9 game which is given in a thread like i said previously.i used dvd decrypt then iso buster to extract the files and now i used nero expressand made a data disc,which i think i made a mistake,i was suppose 2 use nero burning rom 2 burn it which i totaly forgot.so hopefully it should work right or is there a step that i am missing after iso buster..i tried playing in ps2 and finally the result is it doesnt work..either it shows browse the cd or the red screen comes for insert the cd or ps2 format..either of these 2 come.2 problems 1.is dvd+r and 2.nero express.were either of these reason for not working??

Maxell is not the best DVD to choose from either, but its what you have.
All you needed to do once you had the ISO was burn it using imgburn(successor of DVD Decrypter), just google it and download it.
You didn't need to have extracted the ISO with ISObuster.

i choosed maxwell because in one of the thread its 1st class media among which sony is also.but DVD+r aint a issue right?.alrght i will do as you say but what are the chance of the game working?

i am using dvd+r ..i had burnt it on moser beer before and it works like i said but hangs then...in other thread also itz dvd9 game but i downloaded it from some torrent site..i dont recall which site..it is 4.26gb...nd in a thread if u remove the dummy then it comes less then that..thats all i knw

I just edited my post above with an older link on this game. Read through that then.
You should have 2 disks then is how it should have been ripped to DVD5.
Another suggestion for you also is when burning with DVD+R, make sure to change the Booktype to DVD-ROM as shown in this link.

i had read this pos before.the thing is i dont have all these files..
i have a folder named MGS2 which contains CODEC,DEMO,FACE,VOX,STAGE,MOVIE
den i have a folder named MODULES which contains
IOPRP23,MODULE.IPK,PLD.IRX
den i have a system and SLUS_201.44 files..which comes 2 4.29gb..this is metal gear solid 2 it seems because the thread which u just gave ,in that ALKOHOL a afterdawn addict said that he had a 4.3gb game..so i must be having the same thnig..aint it ..

so since its that metal gear then the method i did was right .i mean there are few changes 2 make only na like DVD-R cd and after iso buster directly write them on a a good quality cd...datz all i have 2 do na...tx 4 helping me out by replyin 2 my post..if der r sum changes then do let me know.i have 2 play this game asap.

It worked finally ..did it on princo at 4x speed...but now having problems relating 2 save....letz hoep sum1 here clears my doubt.
