after my friend sent me a link to this forum with problems about his ps2 and valkyrie profile 2, i've read some of the threads about the types of dvds that should be used when burning/playing backups.

so then i figured out i was using 4th class dvd crap (Imation and Maxell) and decided to get myself some 1st/2nd class dvds.

can anyone recommend me some dvds i can purchase from this site?
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php...md=pl&id=719.88
or
http://www.canadacomputers.com
either that or Best Buy, Future Shop and Staples.

i haven't encountered any errors using Imation so far (heck Shadow of the Colossus and Okami ran perfectly fine and i managed to beat them) but i would rather use better dvds than kill my ps2 slim.

also i ripped an iso (using DVD decryptor) out of an Imation dvd and haven't got an error while it was being ripped, so would that iso still be fine to burn again?

thank you very much for the help.

I actually use the Sony DVD-R a lot and have many backups that I have used a lot with no errors or problems as yet.
I see them on that second link you gave.
And yes the ISO you ripped from you Imation should be fine to burn again.
Once you experience problems then you will know its either a dud DVD or just not great media.
The better rated DVD last longer so are worth the money spent.

so when you guys say the Sony DVD-R's you mean the ones with the yellow label spindle that cost about $15-30?

i was going to check out the Taiyo Yuden, but the amount and the cost seem a bit too good to be true...

anyway i'll be checking out the DVDs today and purchase them the next day, hopefully they're both from Japan.

thanks for the replies!

well i just came back from the stores.
apparently the Taiyo Yuden DVDs have the TYGO3 ID and are OEM which explains why there wasn't any label. (i don't know much about computers...)there was also an information labelled DVD at the top with Japanese,English and 2 other languages.

so in the end i might end up buying the 100 Taiyo Yuden DVD-R pack for $40.

thanks for the help!
