hi all,
i have the d2b chip with the missing 3 pins.
i reconnected the 3 pins and eventually got the cyclowiz to stay green although after about 45 mins it starts to flash...dont know if this is because i dont have a disk in it or something ...but for the main part it stays green.
i burned a back up at 16x (all my burning is done at this speed with no fails) and i was lucky to have the correct dvd burner in my computer that allows u to copy wii games (gdr 8163b)..computer says sucessfull burn completed after the 2 hours or so.
however wii does not recognise them.
any help appreciated.
i know some people say burn it slower..but ive had no errors.

thanks

brian

never mind ..i left it for about a month then decided to try to burn the iso to dvd again...this time using nero image burn at 8x.
i wasted alot of disks the last time..however i used the same disks again this time but used nero image burn instead.
disks are ridisk 8x dvd-r printables.
i turned on the machine without any disk inside then instead of pressing a to go ahead i inserted my backup ..waited afew seconds then pressed a....it came up straight away.

keep trying and you will succeed.

You should burn at around 2-2.4x speed. It may well say no errors but its definitly caused me problems and loads of other people (why not take the advice, it takes 40 mins compared to not playing the game?)
If your chip starts flashing it means its not functioning (why have you got your wii in pieces that long with the power on after seeing the chip working?, and do the backups work in that time?)
Also the media you burn on makes a BIG difference. Try something different.

hi...tnks for the advise ..i will certainly burn at a slow speed.
The wii was modded my a family member and it didnt work (dre)..so we put it back together again and it still played origonals.we tested the machine while it was open and saw that the green light started to blink after about 45mins when it was solid all along...possibly that it was not reading a disk i suppose.then last night i decided to try the same media but with nero instead of image burn..dont know what happened but it came to life and plays perfect.have not updated cyclowiz yet as ive heard afew people say they ruined theirs doing that..will wait for a later release.i feel after this experience that if you've got a green light and it still does not work...try as different burning software..definitly burn at 8x or under.make sure its dvd - media
