I would like to know if somebody can help me burn a game, i've already been looking on the site for a good hours worth and would just like to ask a few questions as i've never tried to copy a game before other than the PS1 which was very simple.

I've just brought the new Fifa 08 today and i would like to make a copy for my brother as he as his PS2 modded, i've downloaded the following programs which i've seen all over the site that people recommend.

: Dvd Decrypter
: Alcohol 120%

Seeing as i don't have his PS2 here to test any of the burns which i make i would like to know the most successful way which work out almost all of the time.

I will be using '' Sony DVD-R '' disks which i've read are one of the best ones to use for there quality.
===========================================================================

So far i understand that i need to load up DVD-Decryter awhile the original cd is in the DVD-drive and then go and make a ISO by going to MODE/ISO/READ.

What i'm unsure about next is how to patch the ISO as i have'nt got a clue if you really need to or not, and i have'nt been able to find the ID code for FIFA 08' maybe with it only being released today.

So say that i have the ISO made along with a patch added, i then need to load DVD-Decryter up again then choose MODE/ISO/WRITE... after it as burnt to disk should it now work fine on his modded PS2?

I think that is everything that i needed to ask, if there is anything that i've missed out that is needed feel free to let me know.

Only reply if you are going to help with my questions as with me checking alot of the other topics they are filled with one liners which contradict each other, thanks.

The DNAS ID is only needed if the game will be played online. If your brother will play the game online, simply check out this thread (first post) to see how to find and patch the ID onto the image.

Your discs may or may not be good quality, depending on who actually made them (as Sony does not make all of its discs themselves) and how. Check this thread (first post) if you want more information on that.

As for ripping and burning the disc... you stated the directions correctly. Just make sure that when you burn the disc, pick a speed that is half the max speed of the disc (4x if the disc is 8x, 8x if the disc is 16x, etc). Burning below 4x could cause problems, just as burning too fast (especially anywhere near the max speed of the disc) can cause problems, so half the max speed is usually best. Just make sure that your burner's firmware is up to date.

My brother won't be playing online so i guess i can just leave out the DNAS then. The DVD-R disks which i brought go upto the 16x speed so i'll keep it at 4-8x to be save.

I will be making an ISO file within' the next 20 minutes along with burning it to disk, does it usually take long for both finishing?

One last question i had forgotten to mention was are EA games usually hard to copy or are they always highly protected and may i need to use any type of patch.

Thanks for replying to my few questions

I'm not sure about Fifa 2008, but I know that many EA games have some special level of protection that usually needs a patch or special method of loading. That may be dependant on his modchip also, though.

Both the burn and rip process shouldn't take *too* long (ripping can be anywhere from a few minutes to 15-20 minutes, depending on the speed chosen and size of the game). The burn should take about 10-15 minutes at 4x.

If you're not sure about whether a patch is needed, a good idea might be to simply do a search on Google, something like "Fifa 08 patch PS2" and see if you find any patches. If you find any, read about it and find out when/if it's needed.

He already as quite a few EA related games so i guess the Modchip is ok on that side, i've just spent 5 minutes on google and i've just downloaded this patch...

http://www.torrentportal.com/details/139...e).torrent.html

Does that seem like the normal sized file which patches are usually?

I will spent awhile longer on google searching for similar topics/torrents of a FIFA 08 patch to see if there is any others than the one above.

The link to the torrent you posted is for the PC version of FIFA 08. You dont have to worry about any "Protection" on PS2 games unless its Gran Turismo 4. That game uses some protection method but people can still copy it. EA Games for the ps2 dont have this protection method, so just copy it burn it and PLAY.
