PCSX2-PCI card (PS2 Hardware Emulator)

PCSX2 is a great emulator for the PS2, but it needs high-end computer to run with reasonable and playable speed (40-50 FPS). We all know the problem is the difference between the architecture of PCs and the PS2.

Although the developers of the PCSX2 built their emulator as it uses all the new technology in the Dual core processors and HT support, but game speed still an issue.

This problem can be solved by narrowing the hardware gap between the PC and the PS2 by using a PCI card which is a hardware emulator for the PS2 and re-build PCSX2 to use this new card. the card will be much cheaper than high-end computer.

This is an idea that came to me and I wanted to share with you and with the developers of the PCSX2. So, what do you think of it?

It could work but:

1) What pci card do you propose?
2) Who shall make this card?
3) This requires the pcsx2 team to throw away all their years of development to start working on this hardware card? C'mon, who you fooling? :)

Nothing beats the ps2. Emulators are swell and all, but why play on PC when you can play it better on ps2?

1) A PCI resembles the PS2 hardware.
2) The manufacturers of Mod chips, I think they will like this idea.
3) Modification is a lot easier than initiation.
