Well, first off the console doesn't boot original movies, only copied ones, that started happening about a year ago the and I didn't care much because I had a DVD player to watch them... But now it doesn't boot some PS2 games either, like 'God of War' (A friend tried to play it in my playstation but didn't work, and it works on his) and yesterday I bought 'Rogue Galaxy' and it doesn't boot either!! :/ Anyone knows what the hell is happening?? I am desperate, I want to play!!! :/

Destiny doesn't like me, it's the only explanation..

It is most likely the lense of the DVD player. First off, you can try to clean it and see if this helps (this worked for mine). If not, it will need to be replaced, or you will need to get a new system.

It's really strange, because it boots every other PS2 game I own... :/ How do I clean the lens without risking to damage it? Thanks!

Hmm, are these backups or originals (since you said bought I am assuming originals). I can't think of anything ti would be besides the lens if the games are original. The only way to clean the lens is by taking the system apart. If this is not somehting you have ever done, I would not recommend trying it at risk of breaking your system. If you arew comfortable with doing somehting like that, just google it and their are plenty of step by step instructions on how to do it. If you choose to clean it you can also adjust it at that time. Also, if you do not want to take the system apart, you can go to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc, and get a lens cleaning kit and cycle it throught your system. Now if the games are backups, they might not be good burns/builds of the games. Rogue Galaxy and God of War are DVD9 games which must be rebuilt/compressed to fit on a DVD5 or put on two dics, so if they are backups it could have nothign to do with your lens.

Quick side note, those are two of the best games for the PS2. Anyway, the lens must be dirty, since it is doing it with two games. If it was only one, I could see the possibility that the game is defective, but if you say God Of War also wouldn't play, and did on someone else's machine, I would try to clean the lens. You should take Rogue Galaxy over to your friend's hosue and see if it works on his PS2 just to be sure. I had problems with mine only reading some games, after cleaning it has worked great for almost a year now. and my PS2 is a good 4-5 years old at this point.

Ok, just making sure. I would def go with cleaning the lens and seeing if that can't resolve the situation. Let me know if that helps.
