okay, i got this game i want to play, but its a backup of a PAL game... ive looked into this extensively, but somethings just not clicking and coming together.

my situation is i dont have a ton of money, or id just order swap magic or a chip so im trying to accomplish this by loading the files onto my memory card, by using the Gameshark i already have. its the newest version from Gamestop, got it like a month ago. i got an old blocky PS2, not sure of the version, but i got it around the time GTA3 came out so its old.

first, what damn program, exploits, .ELF's or whatever do i need to put on a disk? i got the title ID from titleman, made all that, now what? im using nero to burn...

second problem, i understand how to do the swap trick, i made a card (actually my ps2 is all apart anyway so i can just sort of take the top of the CD reader off without screwing with the card) but whenever i go to start the boot in the Gameshark, it automatically ejects the drawer, without giving me a chance to switch it. did they just wise up to that with newer versions of GS, or am i missing something or what?

well i know ill get this eventually, but id like to do it for as cheap as possible till i can afford a chip or swapmagic.

if you got any ideas, id really dig your input. im just trying to cobble together a bunch of methods and its not working out. HELP!

You can only use the swap method with Gameshark v2, otherwise it will do stupid stuff that makes it impossible to use the gameshark like a swap magic disc. You might aswell just invest in swap magic disc's or gameshark v2 if you can still find it. Or just buy a modchip and find someone to install it for you, unless you have intermediate soldering skills.
