3.40oe to Sony's latest firmware

Currently my psp is on 3.40oe and i was just wondering if i can do a firmware update via the psp's network update to sonys latest firmware, i wouldnt have to do a downgrade or anything first would i?.
any reply would be great thanks.

why go to sonys highest firmware when there is a 3.71m33 custom firmware

well im passing it on to 5 year old son and i just want it normal firmware as it will only be used for psp games so can i put it straight to sonys latest firmware from 3.40oe

it will still just play the psp games with custom firmware but if you really want to upgrade to fficial sony firmware then use this http://www.sendspace.com/file/j3j2e2 put the recovery folder in GAME folder on memstick,
boot into recovery mode then select run programme at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp
this will take you back down to 1.50,you can install 3.71 from there

ok then if i do upgrade it to this 3.71m33, will this firmware have the remote play features (access your ps3 though the internet from anywhere).?

i don't really know about that but i would presume so,you could always give it a try if it doesn't work you can always downgrade and install offical 3.71 firmware

right ive put the psp at 3.52 M33-4 but to put it into 3.71 M33 on that link you send me doesnt make sense and im too scared to try it cause it might end up being a brick, could you help me please?

have you downloaded the 3.71 M33:
and 3.71 Update file
1:download and extract both of the above
from 3.71m33 you should have an update folder,sdk folder and a readme
from 3.71 update file you should have an eboot
2:rename the eboot 371.PBP and copy that to the update folder from 3.71m33
3:now copy the update folder to GAME folder on your memstick
4:scroll to game on xmb and run the upgrade
make sure your battery is over 78%

you will need to download this first http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-...d/163/catid/163
extract it you should get an eboot,rename it to 150.pbp,
then copy the update folder to GAME folder on memstick,then copy the 150.pbp to the root of memstick,then scroll to game on the xmb and run it
after it is done delete the update folder
m33 update 2
copy the update folder to GAME folder on memstick,then scroll to game on the xmb and run it
