Need To Join Multiple MP4s & Output As MPEG, Please Help

OK I have some MP4 videos which I want to join together and have them output as a MPEG file. I've tried several converters with no luck. The last one I try was Allok Video Joiner and it did join the MP4 files and output them as MPEG, but the MPEG file would not play in any player except Quicktime, the sound was messed up and it kept skipping.
Please can someone recommend a software which can join MP4 files together and output them as a working MPEG file.
