Using Magic 3.6 Plus - Fliptop lid and Memorex DVD-R 16X 4.7gb and Nero 6

Usually backups work good, but last 2 didn't .
Selecting normal mode on Magic3 and swapping magic3 with backup,
it freezes after backup loads to the scrren where game(s) name pops up
and it says loading. Disc is continuosly spinning within ps2 during loading
but it appears as if progress bar/dots freeze as wel.

any help greatly appreciated.

4x and 8x Originals are usually 4.6gb

Does this require Dvd loader or have anything to do with TOC?
