Hi I tried making this wiikey 1.3 setup disc and I cannot get it to play. My firmware 1.9b disc worked just fine.

I have tried both filechop 1.4 and 4.3 sizes as stated in the readme.

When I put the disc in it shows up as a gamecube title, when I click start it just says
"An error has occured" Press eject button etc etc.

I really want to switch my wii over to region free. Anyone have a suggestion?

Try use nero and use a media that's DVD-R, nero automatically fixes the file so it can stay as 18mb or however the original file is

it will only work if region free is already turned on

You could try loading it using GCOS or using the 1.2 using the disc to turn region free on

Hi guys just installed the wiiket aswell.

I am having the exact same trouble with my config disc 1.3 (PAL-As i'm in Australia)

I am fine with the firmware update 1.9 but i get the disc error when trying the config disc.

I have tried nermous times to burn with imgburn and nero but cant do it.

I am using TDK-R discs.

When i try burn the config disc with nero i pick the file and go to burn iso. But it saves a file on my desktop called image.nrg and wont burn on to the disc.

Can anyone help me with that aswell.

Thanks

I use the same media, when your in nero go open or write from image file, then select your burner, go options, click dvd high compatibility then burn at low speed, lemme know how it goes.

1.9b that is update software for wiikey modchip , 1.3 setup disc can not boot because region free not turn on before update to 1.9b , so 1.2b will boot up for you to turn on region free and you can boot 1.3
setup disc.
so that explain in up ? let me know if it work for you

EDIT:
Try this link: I think this might work

I'm having the same F-ing problem. When you load the image in any of the burning softwares(nero or imgburn) it states that the image is a CDROM image, making it troublesome to write the image to a DVD media.

So, how can I force it to write to a DVD? Is there a problem if I load the image with a virtual driver(DaemonTools) and copy the contents of the loaded image to a DVD-File? I think it won't work, but maybe you could have a 'quick step' of how you guys manage to download, and burn the Setup disk of WiiKey 1.3b to a DVD media.

Thanks!

Just run it with GCOS and then turn region free on after that it should load normally

What is the size you need to input into filechop in order to convert the image to 4.3gb?

Sorry, still trying to get my original firmware update disc to work.

mike10 is correct. if you don't have region free on, and you updated to firmware 1.9b/g and also have wii system update 3.x, you'll run into issues with the config disc. just use the GCOS bootdisc to load the Config 1.3 disc, turn region free on, and you're all set. takes a few minutes and works like a charm.
