I currently have a hacked/downgraded psp version 3.52 m33-4. Now I want to upgrade it to 3.71 m33 but i have a problem...Let me tell you what happened step by step:
I copied the UPDATE folder, then changed the name of EBOOT.PBD to 371.PBD, then I disconnected the psp, rowsed throught the psp until I got to the game folder, when I got there there was an icon for update 3.71 m33, i pressed x, a loading screen appeared , then a black screen which said, "You need atleast 3.52 m33-3 to run this installation..." WHAT DO DO!!!!!!????
ps when I go to system info, it says i have a 3.52m33

Do you guys not read, even the first sentence? Change the kernel in recovery then try again.
In the future actually read the problem before attempting to solve it.

Completely shut down your PSP, then hold R while you turn it on to go into Recovery mode. Go down to configuration, hit X then go down to the kernel option and hit X again. Then simply exit...

ok so let me get this straight...
1. download 3.71 files from qj.net
2. extract them
3. put the update folder in the psp/game folder
4. check for sony network updates, install the update
5. change the name of eboot.pbd to 371.pbd
6. run the update
is this right?

ya i know i wrote it pbd here but it is pbp in the files..sorry..typo
and another thing: " Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater
there but with name "371.PBP". Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that." - m33
can some one explain this in simple form

Create /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and put the EBOOT.PBP in the update folder... It's really not that hard to understand, just read the readme, even if you have to read it ten times, just read it properly...
