My kids saved up for a PSP2 for a year, they have been really sick so i bought them some games to keep them amused while they recovered and needed a newby way of backing up my discs into a psp2 playable format. The 3 step ,no brainer process the Gamecopy pro advertised seemed perfect, after all its just a friggin DVD with a different format right? still just 1's and zeros. If you copy em in the right order onto a dvd in the right format, it makes sense that no boot disk or mod chip would be required.
I paid my money fair and square... got to the download site and encountered a loose collection of zipped hacker tools, some extremely techo guide that even didnt mention creating bootable psp2's, and a handful of very amatuer install shield attempts that installed some software but with no explanation.
So much for the glossy "3 step process", "no boot disk or mod chip required" hype that the ad murmurs seductively to dads.
Unless I actually missed the critical download that ties it all together as a professionally packaged piece of software, then I have been totally ripped and I so want to grrr swear.
Now I know you hard core gamer technocrats are gonna say, well buddy your obviously a dumb bunny :-( but the fact is that I have been writing software for a living for 15 years, I can make a pc cook your toast and coffee before you wake up (in c++) if required... So I can spot a money spin when I see one, I hate to say it, but this strongly smells of borderline criminal activity.
I put in some support requests with Gamecopy Pro tonight, lets see what happens, I'll keep this thread posted and THEN we will all know the truth about Gamecopy pro.
Are they out to rip off sick kids? or did I miss something critical and have to crawl my ass off by calling them gurus?
