i dropped my psp now when i switch it on it looks like the back light come on and the laser spindle keeps running to the left the psp dont boot to the menu but dont swicth off like i read in some posts i think the laser spindle is bent for starters just looking for some advise before i pull it apart tomorrow

hm...i think your only option is pull it apart.or give it to game shop.

I don't think that's bricked, ur UMD laser is damaged that's all. And yes, any PSP can be bricked by removing the battery or power source midway through an update when the update files are being flashed to the PSP unit.

would the laser being damaged stop the screen from boot to the menu

no, it shouldn't, but it might.i've never dropped my psp so badly that it moved the inside of the psp, so i don't know.but i'm 99% sure it won't do that.
