So I have tried to run multiple ISO files on my 3.52 M33-4 and every time I get an error...

Ive tried changing the ISO setting and tested with and without a game in the drive.

Game could not be started.

you need to switch the umd driver. in the xmb, press the home button to enter the vsh menu. under the umd iso mode, change it to sony np9660.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

no. when running under the sony np9660 driver or m33 driver, no umd is needed. it boots straight from the xmb

NP6600 needs no UMD.

U can also use the normal driver, but u will need a UMB in the bay, and the following settings ->

Recovery Mode:

Configuration:

UMD Mode - Normal Umd Required

Advanced -> Advanced Configuration:

Plain modules in UMD/ISO - Disabled
Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/CSO - Disabled

@Jeebiss

Here are a few other things to try. Some if the below just recaps wht others have already told you...

Make sure your ISO files are in the ms0:/ISO folder not the /PSP/GAME folder.

Make sure the title of the ISO/CSO is short.

Example:

Correct -- Fifa07.iso
Not Correct -- FIFA-07-[PSP][EUR][www.torrent site.com].iso

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Now right click on the ISO/CSO file and choose Properties. Make sure the Read Only and Hidden box is unchecked and the Archive Box is checked.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Go into recovery mode (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on PSP)

Now go to configuration then to UMD MODE and keep pressing X till you see Sony NP9660 NO UMD.

When it is set to the above setting go to BACK and press X.

Now go to ADVANCED and press X.

Go to ADVANCED CONFIGURATION and press X.

Make sure all the settings here are disabled.

Now EXIT out of recovery.

Now try the ISO/CSO.

I had the same problem and solved it by loading the ISO file into the memory stick via my laptop card slot instead of through the PSP USB cable. I have no idea why this should work but it did!
(My suspicion is that Sony deliberately write to the memory stick faster than a fake card can handle, maybe my laptop is more sensible!)

PS. There's no need to boot into recovery mode to change UMD settings on 3.52 M33-4, just press Home and bring up the VHS (VSH?) menu.

I add the UMD MODE Sony NP9660 setting in the recovery menu part because you need to go in there anyway and check other options that you can't check in VSH menu. Tho you are correct you can do it in VSH menu.

If the file properties are wrong (archive box unchecked), does the game file fail to launch?
Do u get the 'Game could not be started 8xxxxxx' error message?

ok, it's morning and i try to run my games again. they don't work. now, setting my psp with these settings makes them work every time, but when i completely turn off my psp, it erases they settings.

is there any way to save it so that i am able to turn off my psp and these settings not be erased? and then when ii enter recovery it erases my wallpaper too, so i am assuming every time i use the advanced config thing it clears the psp memory.

how can i save the disabled settings?
