I just got a new PC and it came with a Dual Layer Burner before I used my friends pc that had a 111d. Would the burn be worse or better quality on diffrent burners?

i dont know about worse..
but some burners to burn DL Better than others...

Most burners will work just fine. There are of course some that may perform better than others but the only real way to know is to test it out. Or you can visit http://www.cdrinfo.com/ and see if they have done any performace tests on what you have.

Persoanlly i like the BenQ burners that use Q-Suite 2.0 software the best out of any burner i have owned so far.

My Sony DRU-710A was great but only lasted two years before i started getting read/write errors.

Hmm it's more convenient for me to burn it myself now, but I don't want to mess up my laser because of this new burner...

you are more likely to have the discs be causing a laser problem then the burner itself.

Yeah I know all about that. [Friend got cheap and started running his games on HP discs. It's now at microsoft gettting fixed haha]

I only run verbs at 2.4x

You don't think the burner will cause a prob. though?

No, the only problems the burner can causer will be games not working at all. Not Laser problems.
