i got a bettery and a 512mb sandisk pro duo off a friend of mine to convert into a pandoras battery. i did all the steps and everything went well untill i got to the last part which was the actual downgrading. i have a 3.40-oe psp and wanted to see if the menu booted up. i put in the magic mem stick and the pandoras battery but nothing happens. just a black screen and a green power light. did i do something wrong? have i bricked the battery? if i put in my normal battery the psp will boot up fine.
please help me. :(

No, the AC adapter is not required to be plugged in while making the battery/jigkick MS. If the screen is black and the power light is on, this means the battery is functioning fine, but requires the correct files on the MS to load the menu. Try recreating the MS.

Search the forums for a tutorial on creating a proper MS if the one u used is unreliable.

ok i got it working (. i decided to use this:

http://forums.qj.net/f-guides-hacks-home...ery-118799.html

now i have a few questions:
is there anyway to check how much charge the battery has left? i boot up via AC then put the battery in and check the battery indicator and it says 100% even though the orange light is on.

when i hack a psp with the battery, do i need to remake the battery/mem stick? or do i need to remake it everytime after i hack a psp?

thanks in advance

do you need to charge the pandoras battery?

You can recover the Battery like you did in the above post of yours.

Just keep the Magic Memory Stick the same.

When you want to use it place the Magic memory Stick in PSP convert the Battery to a Pandora Battery unbrick/downgrade the PSP then recover the battery back to normal.

Make sure you backup the EEPROM each time you convert a Battery. This way if you convert someone else's battery you have their EEPROM backed up and don't flash it with your backup.

OR

Buy a new battery to use in your PSP and keep the battery in Pandora Mode.

OR, use this setup http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=82963 and you can have both a working battery and a pandora battery all in one (plus a lot of other nice features) :)

Finally left me something to work with larry ;)

Hey Stang I did that setup and when I use the recovery to 3.71 M33 it only says 3.71 M33 not 3.71 M33-2 did you experience this?

I used the despertar cementerio 3 and it should recover to 3.71 M33-2 but as I said after the recovery step system settings only says 3.71 M33.

i just read about the universal unbricker thing and i thought it would be way faster than downgrading to 1.5 then going to CFW. can someone walk me through (step by step please) and tell me how to go from pandoras battery to universal unbricker?

ok i did it. it now goes straight to 3.71 M33-2. but....i think i bricked the first time i did it. i had a umd in there and hlafway through doing it i put in the AC...and when i pressed x to restart it shutdown and when i put in my own battery it came up with the same pandora screen O_o. i think when i took out the umd and put the AC in before i did it all went well.

I think the reason why the Pandora screen still came up even after replacing it with the normal battery was due to having the AC Adapter plugged into the PSP.

The files for Pandora Menu was still in RAM on the PSP or wherever they are written to after they are read from the Magic memory Stick. So taking the Pandora battery out didn't clear out any files that have been previously written because the AC Adapter was still giving the PSP power.

So to clear the files you would need to take both the battery out and unplug the AC Adapter. Now when you replace the normal battery into the PSP it should boot to normal PSP XMB.

You don't even need and I don't even think it is recommended to have the PSP AC Adapter plugged in while using a Pandora Battery Unbricker/Downgrader.
