ok...can i burn a movie as a data file on a cdr and play the movie on the ps2? i have swap magic and all of that type of stuff.
&&/or could i make the movie into an ISO and then burn it and play it on the ps2? if so, how? im wondering all of this cuz im sick of waiting 3 hours for a 700mb movie to burn yet it takes 15 minutes to burn a ps2 game thats X.XX GB

You can burn it as an ISO and play it. JUst look in the DVD recording forums or Google it. You can use Nero, IMG Burn, etc. to burn it.

i got my uLaunch off of you...so how to i get to the sms player on it? do i just use swap magic then put in ulaunch?

Oh yeah thats right. Yes just boot uLaunch with Swap Magic, then choose filebrowser, go to elfs, then choose either SMS. I have 2 in there but I couldnt get V2 to work for me.
SMS V1.9 worked fine for me. I scrolled to it, then click X, The disk was then stopped, I then loaded my DVD-R of House M.D on it, which were in .avi format, compressed with Divx, and it loaded up fine.
I may have to get SMS2.4 they have out now. If you have a usb flash drive you could also put it on that. Then load uLaunch, go to filebrowser, and choose /mass, which is your usb drive, and launch it from there, and put in your DVD with movies on it.

what if i had movies on my external hd? how would i get to them? cuz i went through the sms but it wouldn't show that there was a device attached. it would only let me browse what was on the cd in the ps2, which was uLaunch elf.

I believe on a USB external drive it will recognize it if you make a folder on your MC called SMS, then copy USBD.irx to it.

As for when I launched the SMS player, yes it just went directly to the contents of the uLaunch DVD. The disc was now stopped, so I inserted my DVD with .avi on it, and then either hit X or Triangle and it searched the DVD and loaded up my .avi
Probably best to copy the SMS to MC, then run the elf, so one can load up the DVD with AVI. Not sure the best procedure there, I just know it worked for me.

hey guys,sorry if you think im `hijacking` this thread but i need your help i want to play movies on my ps2 aswell things like avis,divx.but i dont understand at all,i have swap magic 3.6 i think thats needed right? now,what do i do? is there some guide and are there any files i need,im completely stuck.once again i apoligise if you think im `hijacking` this thread

The main question will be how you transfer the movies to the Hard drive.
why would there be trouble transfering them to the hd? i mean i already have movies in avi format on it, and its an external hd. whenever i start up sms and turn on the hd it won't show up to let me browse the files on it. but if i just go on the ulaunch elf then filebrowser it will let me view the files on there....

As for the SMS not showing the files on your hard drive, I don't know.
Maybe try another version of SMS like the 2.3

ok, i know this is a really old thread but hey, was a good one n i started it... lol....ok my question is, does the format of the hdd matter? i recently formatted it to a NTFS. it used to be a FAT32...WHENEVer i get into sms i turn on my hdd, click start then autostart usb and a list comes up in a buch of scrambled letters....
any ideas?
