lol I can tell you're new to the PSP scene.

Anyway, download the ISO/CSO game file.

Make a folder in the root (enter usb mode and go to 'My Computer' on a PC and double click on the removable drive icon to open up to the root of your memory stick. Should have the folders MUSIC, PHOTO, PSP, VIDEO in here) and make a folder called 'ISO'.

Place the game files in the ISO folder and then you should be able to run them through Game Menu -> Memory Stick (of course, you have to have the write settings :P)

Well if the game shows up under Memory Stick in the Game menu and u can launch it, then obviously u have the right settings :)

But otherwise, what firmware are u using? I can't tell u the right settings cuz I don't know what firmware u are running :P

No no no no no don't even think about upgrading to 1.52. Upgrade to a CFW (3.52m33-4 or higher) if u must upgrade. Anyway, there are no settings for OFW 1.5 as it's official, hence no configurable options, let alone a recovery menu. Do the ISOs work?

Its not to hard just get an easy installer for 3.52 m33-4 or a higher firmware like 3.71 m33 and it pretty much does the work for you a you do is click the update icon and hit x and your done "id stick with the 3.52 cus the 3.71 m33 is abit confusing for newer people to the scene"

Well, umdemu and fastloader are obsolete. Just put your .iso in the ISO folder and it will appear on the xmb, no loaders are required anymore (been this way since last Christmas!).

Are you talking about 3.52 ofw or custom firmware 3.52? If you are referring to official firmware, you need to creata a pandora battery/mem stick combo to downgrade. I will not explain this as it has been discussed a trillion times, use the search function.

once you're on 1.50, the best choice is to upgrade straight to custom firmware. DO NOT upgrade to official, as you will have to downgrade back to 1.50.

use this guide, made by larrylje, to upgrade to 3.52 m33-4.

Originally posted by larrylje:
First off make sure your PSP is plugged in to the AC Adapter. Keep your PSP plugged in the whole time you are doing these steps.

The PSP also needs to have a battery charge level of 75% or higher. To check the Battery level go to your system settings then battery information. It will give you the % level there. If it is lower then 75% turn off the PSP and let it charge till it is over 75% (I would recomend charging it to 100$)

Time to update to 3.52 M33 then 3.52 M33-4

Format the Memory Stick using system settings.

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked below. (I have placed all needed files in this download)

3.52 M33 HERE

Extract the file which will extract a UPGRADE_FILES folder. Inside this folder is kxploitpatcher, kxploitpatcher% and M33CREATOR.

Copy the M33CREATOR, kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP/GAME folder.

Go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher (There will be a corrupt data file also here but ignore it because It is normal). It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB(PSP menu).

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

When you run the M33CREATOR it will show loading 150 writing 150 then loading 352 writing 352 something like that. When it is done it should reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the 3.52 M33 UPDATE that the M33CREATOR created. It will flash the files to the PSP when it is finished it will say press X to shutdown. Go ahead and press X after the PSP turns off turn it back on and go to system settings then system information and check to see if your at 3.52 M33 firmware. If you are then do the below steps. If you are not then you did something wrong and need to redo the steps above.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If your at 3.52 M33 reformat the Memory Stick again.

Download the below 3.52 M33-4 update.

3.52 M33-4 HERE

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder that is in the M33-4 update you just extracted, into the root of the Memory Stick (Don't confuse the MP_ROOT as the root of the Memory Stick. The root is the directory that has the ISO/MP_ROOT/PSP folder).

If you do it correctly it should ask to overwrite files. Choose YES TO ALL when it does. If it doesn't ask to overwrite files then you did it wrong. Format the memory Stick again and drag the PSP folder over to the root till it ask to overwrite.

If it asks to overwrite then you can proceed to the Game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds to do. When it is done it will say press X to shut down. When it shuts down turn the PSP back on and go to system settings then system information and check to see if it says 3.52 M33-4.

If it doesn't say that then redo the steps above again. If it does say it then reformat the Memory Stick 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4

I havent bought a psp yet and im wondering,:

-how do you mod it so you can play .iso games?
-if you mod a psp so that it can play .iso games, will it void the warranty?
-will a larger capacity memory stick will have a downside? (as in slower loading time or anything)
-how do you make a .iso file out of a UMD game?
-whats downgrading and upgrading a psp, n why do u wanna downgrade it?

I know, the answers are almost entirely among these threads but they're all in bits n pieces, all jumbled up n i cant really put the pieces together. Im a slow learner tbh. Im hoping someone may clarify this for me.
thanks.

ok here you go: 3.52m33-4 for .iso/.cso, if you do it right, no.
use a 4gb if your going big, it's cheaper and guarantees it will work. i dont know. and you need to downgrade if you have a traditional firmware 2.5 or above otherwise, youll need a pandora battery.

no account is needed.

if the links don't work, then you will need to go to dl.qj.net and download:

- 3.52 m33-4 update

Are there instructions for upgrading with the files? Or do I just put them on my psp? I already tried to upgrade and I have some of those files on my mem-stick, should I delete them?
