rj21- To the best of my knowledge they Don't & I'm Not really sure you'd wanna use'em if they did ! In my limited scope of experience & knowledge Rewritable disc seem more prone too scratches and other surface damage then non rewritable std. DVD+R or DVD-R media including DVD+R DL media ! also after multiple rewrites on the same rewriteable disc they seem to error out or become unusable ! Also DVD+R DL media is somewhat more difficult to make than SL single layer dvd media of either format so there are more deffective disc per batch and being that's the case that affects the final cost of the media !!! in that they can't sell the deffective disc so thatis less disc they can sell hence less profit! so this is one reason DVD+RDL are still rather highly priced versus SL Media !!! with the cost of SL media so reasonable{ On sale of course } why not just use two single layer disc ?

JVC has introduced DVD-RW DL media. These new inverse stack media can be recorded at 2X. That's it for the good news. The bad news: you will need a new drive in order to record or even play this new medium. Not one of the 1.1 billion players made will be able to read this disc because it uses a new file system in which, for example, a VIDEO_TS files now becomes "DVD_LR," the LR standing for "low reflectivity." Still interested? That would make you the seventh person in the world. The first six are JVC engineers.

JoeRyan- Thanks Joe ! - I figured if anyone knew about this subject it would be you ! Other than using something like that for a test to see if a Burn works before commiting to a regular DVD+R DL disc I would'nt see much use for it ! and as you say being it's basically a JVC Proprietary format and non standard the price would probably be extravagantly excessive !!!!!!!!!! LOL sad but true ! For now I'll just hold on to my Nec& Benq drives they serve me well enough ! Besides I only do double layer disc ( Verbatim) for really important projects& movies ! so it's not really a issue in my book anyway thanks for the information anyways & happy burning !!!!CIAO!!
