However, when I burn the iso file to DVD+R disk, my Wii couldn't read it. My Wii has the Wiikey installed and it read DVD+R discs that I created from download Wii iso fine. What give? Is it that hopeless for GDR-H30N drive? I've seen mixed info on this drive. I'm still hopefull that it'll work.
I too have a similar problem. My drive is a SONY DVD RW DW-Q28A. I backup up Mario Party 8 with Friidump and it produced an ISO file. I burned this to disc using ImgBurn at 4x with Verbatim DVD-R media. Everything seemed fine till I put it in my Nintendo Wii. It said 'Cannot read the disc, please consult the Operations maunal' Now, is this because my PC drive is simply not compatible? Or, that I am burning the disc at an unapropriate speed?

Also, if I were to burn a downloadedISO file and burned it onto disc at 4x using ImgBurn, would the game work?

DVD ROM TSSTcorp TS-H492C/LX45 - - Reads And Dumps Successfuly
Iso image is proper size as to instructions
Brunt image with Imageburn at 4x speed
Wii does not read disk.
I dont know the maker of the dvd-r due to no indentity on top but media does work on wii when i burnt a copy Wiikey Boot 3.1 hexed version, GCSO and emulators work fine so it cant be my media
the wii is modded and updated. my orginal copy of SMG i recived from the guy who modded my wii works great
SO what i like to know is what format is the iso or am i suppose to do someting to the image before burning. I've looked an other forums and sites for those who are succesful which i have found none. Now it would be nice if those are sucessful would write someting to help the stranded even somting simple like Hey i did it it works and this is my hardware and media i used

So far from what i have seen in this forum is simple and clear.
So for those newbies who are having trouble heres a solution "Stop"
what your doing "READ" the intsructions Word for word complete.
If you do that your chances increase for if they fail either you typed the wrong command or your hardware is totaly not compitble

I Did each step as the guide said and it worked fine, created a iso (4.37 GB In Size).

Then I Burned it with IMGBurn @ 6X speed like i do with all my backups that i download. which have all, worked fine.

so i burned and it and it and put in my wii and it didnt read the disc, so i tried other types of disc DVD+R's and DVD-R of other types and they dont work.

anybody know why ? i have a Modded Wii (Wiikey with latest update.)

thanks.

Cecy, what is your location of the friidump?

Open Windows Explorer and find the folder for the program and then paste it here. It should look something like this...

C:\Program Files\Friidump

...But it will depend on where you put it. Did you put it in Program Files or somewhere else?

Cecy, on the command prompt, once you get to C:/Program Files>

Then type "cd f" (no quotes of course) then press the Tab button, this will scroll through all the folders that start with an f, so you should find it doing that way. Once you do, just press enter. Then continue with the tutorial to start the program.

EDIT: It looks like you found the folder...now what is your DVD drive? It is probably your D: or E:. Once you figure that out then type...

friidump -d d: -a
(if your DVD drive is your d: ... if it is some other letter then just replace the d with the correct letter)

I started the dump..

cd..
cd..
cd..
cd program files
cd friidumpcecy
friidump -d g: -a

Here is my question: I have internal gdr 8163 and external sony dru..for the burning. it says warning unsupported drive model and has the sony listed. When I turned off the external sony drive and retried so that the 8163 would show up it wouldn't work at all and said failed. Is the program running properly??

Just read your post.. will try d: instead of g:

Figure out what drive your gdr 8163 is. You can do this by opening My Computer and you will see the list of all the drives. Find the letter and use it.

Good luck.

I'm sure hoping a dump is out by the morning. I just got my copy at Walmart (they had 48 copies and like 8 people there, so much easier than trying GameStop or something) but of course I won't be able to play it until a wiikey update.

I was able to dump the game to the correct file size, but when I went to play it I got as far as the save file screen. It asked if I wanted to create a save file and I said yes. Then the screen went white...
Any suggestions??

Is there any way to change where the output file comes out at? The problem I have is that the guy that made my comp gave me 2 hard drives, and my C:/ has only like 9gigs and my E:/ has like 200gigs. Is there anyway to run friidump from E:/ cuz I can't seem to change the cmd prompt to E:/. Either that or to change the output file directory to something in my E:/. Thanks in advance for your help.
