Guys, I've been trying to dump Super Smash Bros, but I'm having problems, I've downloading friidump 0.4.0 but the dump gives me an error at 49%. Do you guys know what the problem may be?

There is a link that I posted on the second page of this thread.

Edit: Sorry, it looks like the link I was pointing at has been moved.
Here is a new link

If my computer like shuts down automatically when i am ripping SSBB with friidump 0.4.0, will I be able to continue it where I left off, like it let me with Rawdump 2.0? Also, will this burn out the DVD drive since it is burning for 6 hours straight?

I'm also having a problem after 45%, the dump stops, friidump4.0 is crashing. The file size is 3 843 358 720, which is slightly over my previous attempt, which crashed at 3 842 703 360.

Any suggestion on how to dump it completely?
FYI, I tried rawdump 2.1 without success. For everything else than SSBB, I used rawdump 2.0 and it worked 100% of the time.

thanks.

I assume the destination does not always need to be at c:/program files/friidump ...correct??

I can also do it at...let say e:/friidump or C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin\Desktop (Desktop for XP)

I just finished dumping SSBB with friidump 0.40 and had no problem.

Filesize: 7.92GB (8,511,160,320)

I assume I can also dump it on an external hard drive via USB/Firewire/e-SATA, correct?? Speed may vary but I assume it works as well.

I got through with all this last night . I burnt my first one & the wii wouldn't read it . You have to have the right layer break . So after more research , I burnt my second copy & it works like a rep from Nintendo personally delivered it to my house . For those of you having problems burning after the rip . Here is the dvd file to burn ....

http://www.mediafire.com/?jnzwgulmgmt

Put it in the same folder as your smash bros iso .

Use img burn to burn it . Select the dvd file instead of the iso . A box should come up when you start to burn that says ..... "User specified layer break conflicts with image specified layer break " Do you want ro use image specified layer break Click on YES . Wait for the burn & play .

I burned it at 2.4 x speed . I Do not really know if the speed matters or not ?

You don't click on that file, you place that file, for example under c:\program files\friidump (creat a file name "friidump" and place that file you extracted into that new folder) then you follow page 1

You need to follow instruction on page 1. Click "RUN" and DOS prompt will come up and then you can start off your command by following page 1.

Ok guys, I am having a hell of a time with this. I have tried to rip my SSBB several times now with no luck. I tried last night with Friidump V0.3.0. I couldn't find the file last night after the rip was done so I tried again like I had seen on here by renaming the file. So second attempt with V3 with the game called "game.iso" and no luck again. Now after reading for the last hour I see there is a Friidump V4 out. So I uninstall V3, click on the link for V4 and I get Winrar to pop up instantly. Heres my problem, the damn thing won't go into my C:\Program Files\Friidump folder that I made. What the hell??? Am I just a tard or what??? Can anybody un-cluster F me or am I just FUBARED. Thanks

One more thing, when I try to extract the friidump into the C:\Program Files\friidump folder I made, I get the following error message:

C:\Users\Cheryl\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\O0BDTY96\friidump040-w32[1].zip: Cannot create friidump.exe

Access is denied.

What does this mean? This is a personal comp at home and only me and my wife are on it. Thanks

@Justin33

Follow these steps. Download Friidump 04 and save zip to your desktop. Open file and click extract. The windows extration wizard will pop up. Click NEXT. It will say "the folder with be extracted to this file" CLICK BROWSE. Select MY COMPUTER, Select C: dive, Select PROGRAM FILES, Click MAKE NEW FOLDER, NAME THE FOLDER FRIIDUMP THEN CLICK OK. Then click NEXT, then click finished. Your friidump program will now be in the C:\Program Files\FRIIDUMP
Proceed from there with page one of this thread or I have written a HOW TO BACKUP SSBB on the Super Smash Bros d/l..seeding.. etc thread. It's on page one.
Hope that solves the problem you are having..

Thanks a ton for your help. I continued to play with it and eventually figured it out myself (ended up doing what you suggested). One last question, where are the iso files going? I have heard they are suppose to show up in C:\Program Files\Friidump, but the only thing in that file is friidump.exe. Do the iso files only show up after they are completely dumped? With rawdump you can hit the dump button and immediately see the iso in the folder, even though the size of the iso is very small. Thanks Justin

@Justin
Yes, the iso should be in the C:\ Program Files\Friidump folder. I'm not sure when the iso shows up. Hadn't really looked. I have noticed that when I cancel a rip I have to delete the game iso before starting over and it is there. I would think you could at least do a "search" to find the file.

For the batch file the easy to do this is keep the fridump folder on your desktop
open notepad and type the path to your fiidump folder for example
cd c:\documents and settings\chilihead\desktop\friidump040-w32
then on the next line type
friidump -d f:(change to your drive letter mine is f) -a
then select file then save as and name it whatever but put .bat at the end
find the new file and double click

if you have vista at the command line from start type edit.com that will bring you to the window to create the .bat file

I used Friidump to successfully dump SSBB using an 8164b. I did run into a small problem with Metroid Prime when using the defaults. It seems that Friidump has a problem with special characters in the disc name, and Metroid Prime 3 has a ":" character. I do not know if the file name is used anywhere In the .iso so I didn't try manually changing the filename.

Anyone else see this issue yet?

BTW, for all you guys "wishing" that there was additional drive support for dumping Wii discs, you need to try to understand that the LG drives are only able to do this by way of exploiting a firmware function that other drives don't have "exposed".
