XBOX 360 firmare flash or mod chip?

HI all I can get a modchip or the blaster 360 fitted on my XBOX 360. I want to be able to play back up copies of my games without much fuss. I have a question though..I am more convinced about the firmware flash for the xbox...but does it flash the dvd firmware every time I switch the XBOX on?
Also I read that sometimes there is a firmware upgrade (like for the PSP) does it mean that to play some newer games I have to upgrade the XBOX firmware?
Also last but not least will this mean that even if I upgrade to the last firmware the Blaster 360 will still be able to flash the XBOX and allow me to play also the newer games backed up on dvd?

You only flash the first time, and then if they release an updated firmware you flash to update your dvd drive. it does not flash every time you turn it on. It is a much better oslution then a mod chip. The updates sent from Microsoft to play new games as of yet have not affected flashed dvd firmware, so no you do not need to reflash everytime Microsoft does an update, just every time the flashed firmware is updated. The firmware to flash to the dvd drive is usually updated if bugs are worked out or if new measures are being taken to avoid detection from Micrsoft while using Live.
