im runnning the new final fantasy tactics game from the iso on my memory card, and every time someone does a special ability the game slows down horribly, is this the way the game is or is it because im running it off the memory card? or do i simply need to update my firmware? im running m33 3.52-4

try increasing the cpu speed. go back to the xmb. once there, press home to bring up the vsh menu. change the cpu clock game speed to 300 or 333. exit the vsh menu, and run the game again.

tried that already, didnt do anything,
its wierd because i looked at the videos on gamespot and there didnt seem to be any slowdown on them, but i dont know if thats because they were using it on the dev machine or sped up the footage, =P its really irritating, the game is in olde english now and it lags to hell argg

you can reformat the memory stick. but before doing that, copy everything to the computer first.
once everything is copied, do this type of format:
-start a command prompt (start->run->cmd)
-once it appears, type "format (psp drive letter): /fs:fat"
-will ask if you are sure to format, type "y"
-*if using a 4 or 8 gig card, it will ask if you want to use 64k cluster, type "y"*
once done, copy everything back to the memory stick and retry the game.
also, it can be the game itself. if it's a cso, then it might be compressed too much.

pretty sure theres nothing you can do about it. its the game itself. i hear that even if you bought it from a store, it lags the same way.

I bought the PSP disc from the store and have the CPU speed set to 333 and the game still lags at some of the more graphicly intense parts (summons and magic). I hate to think of how it runs if you dont have your CPU clocked higher...
martimi
New Slim 3.60 traded in for "Refurbished" 3.51 (crap...) traded in for new fat 3.50->1.50 (partial brick)->3.52 m33-4 (removed brick)->3.71 m33-2

Yeah runs a little slow for me as well. I'm using a full ISO at 333MHz. Good game, more fun (a little easier) to play if you put your characters on AI Berserker! (I know I'm a cheater!)
I think Jeanne d'Arc was a little better if you like somewhat less complex games. FFT is a lot more strategy-oriented and harder (probably a lot longer too I'm guessing so far by my 9 hrs in). You HAVE to level a lot to keep up with the enemy or you won't last long.
PSP Fat FW route over a few years now:
3.03 >1.5 >3.10 OE-A >3.40 OE-A >3.52M33-3 >3.90M33-3 > 4.01 M33 > 4.01 M33-2 ... > Gen D3

moved to a more appropriate forum - the games forum is simply for debate of the games themselves
