I have a NTSC J console with firmware 2.0j. I also have a wiikey installed.. I don't read japanese so I used the pdf translation file.
Anyhow, I figured it'd be a good idea to update the firmware after reading here it's best to upgrade and also use brick blocker for iso's from wii backups.
The problem is that, after I configured my wireless connection the firmware upgrade menu popped and I chose yes. It started ok and then it got stuck at about 50% for more than 2 hours now. I pretty much don't know what to do cause if I reset the console, most chances it can brick the console.
Did it happen because I have a wiikey? I found this in tgdaily: "More interestingly, though, is that as a result of last week's update, users are now confronted with a disclaimer before they attempt to download a system update. Among other things, the notice says, "If your Wii console has an unauthorized technical modification, this upgrade could cause inoperability of your console.""
I'm not sure I had this disclaimer since I can't read japanese.
