currently i have cfw 3.40oe-a.. and i've had it for quite a while (probably like 6 months i think??).
i didn't update to m33 versions because i didn't need to.. everything i tried worked fine..
however, i can't stay at 3.40oe-a forever, so i'm thinking about updating.
i can see that 3.71m33-2 is the latest... but also seeing it has some problems? (like 1.50 kernel)
should i update? worth it? what's the advantage?
you are adding 1.50 kernel manually, so can it cause some problems etc?

you should upgrade, 3.40 oe-a is old news and 3.71 m33 brings alot of new features, only thing that doesnt work si old plugins, but never fear because newer versions arebeing build from those plugins

ok but i'm worried about this 'manually adding 1.50 kernel' to my phat psp..
isn't it very unnatural for psp?

yes but in the end its the same because u will have normal firmware. sony changed the flash0 so dax had to think of a new way to make this 3.71 m33. dun worry its very good, even tho its manual.

You should try using the Universal Unbricker Guide that I just made HERE.

You can make the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery and keep the Battery as a Pandora and boot to SMB normally using the Booster's MS Multi IPL Loader option.

Just a safety measure you could have in case you semi-brick or brick your PSP. This will allow you to recover your PSP back to 3.71 M33-2 firmware all in 1 shot.

to lerrylje, your guide was a little confusing.

Thank H06!

Thats your opinion.

How you come to that opinion is beyond me. Your actually performing less steps in my guide then what you would in the other when creating the Magic Memory Stick.

You can also keep the Battery as a Pandora Battery plus use it as a normal 1 by using Option 3 at the bottom of my guide.

You must be a buddy of HO6.

"shakes head"

Take a look at this thread HERE.

He is your friend now huh? Looks like he has been your friend and apart of your supposedly so called team you have.

Not much of a team if you have to copy part of someone else's Guide word for word like you did when creating your so called guide linked above.

@marlino23

Sorry I will get back on topic now. Just irritates me when someone half a$$ throws a guide together by coping and pasting the a READ ME file and part of someone else's guide word for word and then says here is a guide I created. If you want to make your own guide put some time into it. Plus never copy someone else's guide word for word when doing it.

larrylje's guide is not confusing, maybe you should sleep a bit and take a look again

My Phat PSP History : 1.50 > 3.40 OE-A > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33-2 (semi-bricked) > 1.50 (Recovered) > 3.40 OE-A > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33-4 > 3.80 M33-2 > 3.80 M33-5 > 3.90 M33-2 + 1.50 Subset.

yeah.. and i also got new theme, all iso's working fine, all homebrew and emulators are working fine also.
also put a custom gameboot and it's working fine.
so yeah everything is good... thanks all

1 question though.. after i installed 1.50 kernel add-on, i didn't go to recovery mode and change the kernel to 1.50.. so my kernel is still set to 3.71, yet every homebrew is working fine... weird

yeah it will still work while on 3.71, when you set it to 150 kernel then you need to put all the apps in your GAME folder.
