Use dvdshrink that's your best bet..case in point..I had the movie Transformers on a Windata Dvd+R DL 8x at 8.5Gb and I transfered to Verbatim Dvd +R 4.7GB single layer Now on the windate the size read out at 7.48GB's burned..I dropped it down to 4.53Gb's to put it on the Verbatim Disc.. that took off 2.95Gb's of media to fit on that blank disc. Now you Have 2 Choice's burn it directly to Blank media after the encoding or put it in a Folder set up by you..I usally do it to folder case there's a problem.I don't wanna waste media on a error.. then I use clonedvd 2 to burn it with to a disc by using dvdshrink it convert it into vob file from a iso file..
any questions about the process sent me a private pm..I'll help you thru..hope you got some gfood media

AFAIK the games need to remain uncompressed, but I'm no guru on Xbox backups so I'll move this the Xbox forum for better response.

http://www.dvdshrink.info/splitting-v2-3.php

this is a older version of shrink but you can still do it with the new version 3.2

IF its a 360 game, it needs to be put on a dvd=dl or some kind of dual layer dvd. On top of that you need to have the flashed firmware on your 360 dvd drive.
Hope that helps!

cant be done - 360's are programed to only read Dual Layer discs and even attempting to modify in portion of the game (especially compressing or removing FMV) will automatically result in a disc read error - eve w/amodified firmware it cant be done ...

That is your only option! A new version of quix is beieng developed that claims to be able to rip the video partition which in return could yield dvd-5 backups...i will believe it when I see it.
