whats sup im trying to help a friend downgrade from the firmware 3.03 sony firmware and i know that you need grand theft auto (LCS) unpatched version which is the update version 2.0. my question is that how can i tell which version is the unpacthed version of grand theft? thanks

There should be a 2.0 or 2.6 update on it. After inserting the UMD it should show the update in the Game Menu. If it says 2.0 update then it is unpatched and you can use it. If it says 2.6 update then you can not use that version.

yeah! but is there a way to tell which version your going to get before you actually purchase the game. can you look on the game case and tell which version between the unpacthed and the patched?

It should say on the case if it has 2.0 or 2.6 update.

HERE is a little more help to take a look at.

You could also update to 3.50 and use a unpatched copy of Lumines to downgrade using the 3.50 downgrader. To find a unpatched version of Lumines look on the SPINE of the case for EU (ULES00043) or US (ULUS10002)

If you have a 1.50 PSP or CFW PSP you could create a Pandora Battery to downgrade his 3.03 to 1.50 firmware without using any of the above methods.
