just bought a philips standalone dvd recorder can anyone recomend good quality dvd+r/rw disc's to use in this machine i've never used +r/rw discs before.in my pc based dvd writer pioneer 105 i use ritek dvd-r disc's and are very happy with the quality and would like a simular quality dvd+r disc to use in the standalone unit

just tried two "one" brand +r discs both failed about three quaters of the way through the recording with disc error some one please help me find some decent media to use it this unit

I tend to use Philips DVD+RW. I know they are slightly more expensive but I have never had a problem wih them.

I was using Arita +R disks but I started to have problems with them in my standalone (although they seem to work in my Pioneer 106 with no problems). I have now moved back to Philips +R disks. I have a DVDR980 and have just bought a DVDR70. I will try the Arita disks on the 70 and let you know my results.
