You can do darn alot of things with your PSP :)
Well, but I would recommend to upgrade your PSP to a custom firmware :)
3.52 m33-4 is the most stable firmware till date :D (At least on my PSP :D)
Also, you can play homebrew apps and games and .iso games on your PSP :)

another thing to add is devhook. it lets you emulate any firmware version like 2.81 for example and you run the devhook program and you go to 2.81. when your psp turns off or when u chose to, you can go back to 1.50 at any time you chose.

Devhook is outdated and custom firmware makes it easier to do the things you want to do without loading Devhook all the time.

HERE is a guide to update to 3.52 M33-4 (You can downgrade back to 1.50 at anytime if you don't like custom firmware. But I am sure you will be pleased with CFW after you get it installed on your PSP)

If you want the latest firmware then go HERE (After you have updated to 3.52 M33-4) and follow the guide on updating to 3.71 M33-2 + 1.50 ADD ON-2 CFW.
