I have burned a backup of The Rumble Fish. It boots, but it takes forever to load; at least 5 minutes of loading between each screen. When it doesn't have to load, like when in a match, it works fine, its just the loading thats horrendous. Has anyone who has burned this game have this problem? I burned this with Nero at 4x on fujifilm dvd-r two times and at 2x one time and the loading is terrible on all three. Can anyone suggest a remedy? Of course it will be greatly appreciated.

Did you rebuild the game with Gnie's expert tool.
Open the program.

1. Select the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins drop down list.
2. Select the iso you want to rebuild.
3. Click extract LBA.
4. Click extract file and wait for it to finish.
5. Click rebuild file and wait for it to finish.
6. Click rebuild LBA.
7. Burn the new iso with Nero or DVD Decrypter as usual.

Get it here... you will have to register.

Or you if you are using Swap Magic, you would need to do a TOC refresh with a larger TOC game than what you are playing like Onimusha 3.

Thank you very much, but unfortunately it was a different method of getting the same result. I used gnie's and Isobuster, but the game still loads slow. I was thinking that it was bad media, but fujifilm has worked with other backups. Anyway, I know the basic steps of making backups, but if anyone out there who has made a copy of the rumble fish can tell me the key steps that made your copy a success, that would be great.

By the way what is the Version of Swap Magic you are using or what method are you using to load The Rumble Fish. What PS2 do you have? What is the size of your ISO?
And yes media could be the problem, that media is second class media.

Okay, I have a rebuilt backup of The rumble fish, came out to be around 400mb. I have a NTSC SCPH-50001 Ps2, I am using swap magic DVD 3.6 with the slide tool. I have booted it with normal boot and special boot, both resulting in the same slow loading experience. I will try to burn on diff media, but until then I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance, 'specially you smokey d(^_^)b

It's not the media, the game is just that slow. Even off the hard drive, there is considerable load time. It's just one of those things.

good to go!!

Thank you all once again! I have figured out the problem and it was my ps2. I fixed the laser and now it runs smoothly. I love this game!
