Hello all,

I am in need of some assistence.
several days ago, my kid deleted all my save games from the ps2 memorycard. It had like 800 hours playing time on it, and would love to get it back.

After browsing through the internet, I didn't not really find the info I needed. Afterdawn forums might be the best place to get an anwer to my questions. The main question would be: How can I get my data back (if posible).

I have the feeling I need to connect the memorycard to my PC.
This is what I had in mind: http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/cata...ion-p-1002.html

However I do not know if the memorycard would be detected as any extern disk since I need it to be like this to recover the data with software (right?). I want to use the softeware easy recovery to get the data back then.

Dis some else tried recovering the data on their memorycard or knows how to do so?

Will the psx/ps2 to ps3 link adapter also work to connect it to the PC (since it seems a USB connection)

I welcome all the help I can get.

Best regards,

OracleX

That gadget is just a new memory card to use via USB. It also just lets you view your mc and fix corrupted icons etc.
Sorry, but Far as I know once the data off a PS2 memory card is deleted it is gone.

And this little gadjet then?

http://www.psxshop.nl/memory-adaptor-ps20462-p-1470.html

When the memorycard acts as an extern disk I think I should be able to recover data right ?

I want my 800 hours back :(
Please help me

That may work once connected to the PC and using some recovery software, but I can't tell you for sure that it will recover the data.

I know that those gadgets are great for when you actually have the saves on the mc, and then want to back them up or edit them on your computer, or to transfer to mc.
You would have to try it.
Darn kids hey..Sad to lose all that save data, I feel for you.

So Sorry..
I don't think there is anything you can do but start over really.
Not what you want to hear, but at least you tried and we know it doesn't work.
I think though this gadget will help you now to keep backups of your mc in case this happened again, then at least you can just copy them back again.

yea that true..

only thing I can do now is to contact sony. maybe they can help me further. I wished those basterds that sold me the product, told me that it would be useless to recover data. anyways... I still won't give up just yet.

and thanks smokyrain showing interest and giving a helping hand.

Well, I know what it feels like. It hapened twice to me.
once when I accidently FORMATTED my mc through MC killer.
and later when AR MAX screwed me.

One good thing was that I was able to find most of the saves that matched my progress in various games at GameFaqs.com.
and now with that device you bought it will be much easy for you to tranfer your saves. So its not that bad.

:/
