Anyway, it's 3000MAH so I figured the battery life should be extended. But, when I use my PSP 1800MAH official battery, enter system settings -> battery information, and wait 15 seconds for the battery life to stabilise, it shows up to 8 hours. Whereas when I do the same thing (cpu speed same, and everything) with the 3000MAH battery the life is only 5 hours.
Is there a reason why it displays a lower battery life? Is it because it's a fake battery that the PSP estimates the life incorrectly possibly?

no its probly becasue that is a 3000 mah dusguised as an el cheapo 1200 mAh. dunt buy from eba especialy over seas. but it is most likely not what it seems like because usualy the time is correct... unless you flash your battery. someone else posted that they were tryign to mod it and they found a weight in the battery ... leading to the conclusion that it is fake... take a look at that thread: called harmoddinga battery to make a pandora's battery (something like that)... you might find your battery to be like that.
zzz -_- Brilliant. I have a battery that's NOT 3000MAH and apparently has a weight in it. lol :|
Well I should've suspected this really, I read a thread recently listing all fake batteries and such. Apparently the only recommended battery other than SONY genuine are Dattel batteries and another brand which I can't seem to recall. Anyone have recommendations for battery brands when buying?
Edit: Nvm, I checked a thread on PSP batteries and it turns out u can only use the following batteries -
Quote:Working:
- Sony "standard" Li-ion 1800 mAh
- Sony PSP-280 2200mAh
- Datel, PSP Battery 3600 mAh (X2)
- Datel, PSP Battery 1800 Max Power
- Datel, PSP Battery GO MAX (Model # GM1000, uses AAA batteries) note: If u remove the batteries, it resets the serial back to all 0's
So if you're using any of those, watch out!
Does anyone know how much a genuine Datel 3600 would cost?
