I went to Japan and bought a wii, unfortunately i thought i can play games from US region with no problem. But there is thing like bricking going on. Now my wii is 2.0J and i need help with updates.

update ur wii through the internet to latest firmware (doesnt matter where in world u r - it will get the right update)

dont play a different region disc before u check for updates each time you try a new game

well i have tried it but a page appeared in japanese and there are 2 options for me to click. When that page appeared i hav got no idea wat it says. I hav read alot of thread including the one that says if your wii has been modified and if u update ur wii will be bricked. So is it safe to update by internet

p.s i have jap wii and have just updated it from the internet to 3.1j
no probs at all
p.s as long as you have the latest firmware you will be ok

nintendo say this to cover their arses in case u brick ur wii with a different region firmware update off a disc
