my card keeps turning on and off. what can I do? when I try copying it keeps telling me disk read error. when I copy smaller files it doesn't do that everytime, but with bigger files it keeps showing up and it's so god damn frustrating. I can't copy anything. is it because of a faulty card? what the..? I just bought the psp today from this dude...any advices?

format the memory stick. it might be corrupted. if the error keeps on showing up, then you have a fake memory stick, and it's life is near death.

go to your main menu and highlight the memory stick there. press triangle and then go to info and tell us what it reads. where did u get the memory stick from? 95% of ebay ones are fake.

it says only the user capacity (meaning 1914mb, free 1914mb - I've formated it). and it also sais magicgate supported (what does that mean?). and that's all.
as I said I managed to put some music and videos, even though this error sometimes appeared...
I don't know about games because I'm new to psp and I don't even know If I can play games from my card. the sistem software is version 3.03. how can I tell if I can play games directly from my card so that I can try it (and where do I copy games?), to see if the card's good, and if it is, how can I "crack" my psp, without those pandora batteries I've been hearing about, cause I don't have no friend with a psp, card and battery to spare, even less..

and the card is not from ebay, I bought it from this dude with the psp, just today, so I'm a very fresh newbie. I can handle pc's and ps2's I guess, but psp...fresh. when I put the card in the psp, it works well, I mean no errors appear or stuff like that, I can see everything that's in it just fine (except a few movies but I think that's because of me and how I converted them). thanks guys and I'm looking forward for your replies.

nah man, I don't think so, from where I am people just don't buy from ebay. but aren't those from ebay supposed to not work at all? mine kind of does...partially. I don't even know, maybe it's something else..

now for instance I'm watching some pretty cool videos I've copied on the card... but in larger files this error sometimes appears, sometimes doesn't...don't know anymore, thanks for the help and for the quick responses, I still hope it's something else...

jesus christ I forgot telling you that I was pluging the card in my card reader, and not using the usb, because I didn't have one. but I've remembered I used to have an old digital camera usb cable that I kept (I knew it will be useful someday) so now when I connect the psp using the usb connection it all works fine. I'm so relieved! please excuse me of my stupidity and thank you for all. now there's only 1 problem left...ripping so I can play games directly from my card...

go to 3.52 m33 4 that has a built in ripper once ur there i will be gald to show u how....

from the 3.52 m33 4 version, will I be able to rip the psp and play games from the card? without having to create a pandora battery, and without needing the gta lcs to downgrade to 1.50? and if so, can you help me do so? I'm kind of afraid because I don't want to go to a higher version so I will need to make the pandora battery and stuff.. do you know a way to rip the psp using just..software and stuff? if so, please guide me.

well you go to recovery, make ur home usb thing the UMD and then toggle usb while in the xmb and then you copoy and paste the game.

I'm sorry man, I'm so fresh that I can't understand some things... how can I get to recovery, what is that? and how can I make my homw usb the UMD? and...what does "while in the xmb" mean? sorry for the fact that I don't really understand... so practically, if I turn to the 3.52 m33 4 version, I will be able to copy these games into my card by doing what you said (the things that I didn't understand?)?
