Hello i am a complete noob and was hopin someone could help me. I bought a blaster 360NE and installed it fine. I have a hitachi 47DJ drive and cant seem to figure out how to flash it. I've read these are actually the easiest ones to do. I am trying to connect it to my laptop with a usb to sata/ide converter. I have downloaded the latest firmware and am all set to go but when i plug the lead into my blaster nothing happens. I have turned it to mode b and switched the blaster on but theres no blue light. Can anyone tell me what i'm doin wrong please? Should i plug in the power supply to the xbox360?

I used a Blaster 360 to get mine to work before so I have some background knowledge. I know with my Blaster 360 you won't see the blue light unless you turn the led to ON or Glow. That maybe a problem. Overall the Blaster 360 is just an extension to your 360's SATA. So to flash it you just follow whatever method works for your drive, but plug the SATA cable to your Blaster. The only other thing I can thing of that might cause a problem is some times the program you use to flash the drive can have difficulty with SATA to USB connectors. Hopefully this helps, I know how much of a pain this can be.

Thanks epa2k7, It maybe that. Do you know what program i should use that would recognise the usb to sata? Also when i turn the blaster on with the xbox on i do get the green glow. Should the xbox be turned on when im flashin it? Thanks.

Yea that green glow is just for looks... kinda letting you know that its hooked up right but its not doing anything. Follow instructions or you will mess up your xbox 360. You still need to power on the Blaster 360 using a 4 pin connection thats in side your pc, When the Blaster 360 is on you will get a blue light instead of the green. You will also need a ATA serial cable so you can connect the blaster to the pc mother board..... All i need is the ATA serial cable and im ready to go.

Thanks but i managed to get it done. I had the blaster NE which is slightly different as in it actually uses the xbox 360's power supply and the light doesn't seem to turn blue. You have to power the 360 up and then my laptop recognized it using the usb to sata lead. Then just flash as normal.

Thanks for the reply.
