I had a friend mod my x-box with an xecuter 2 lite I believe. It works fine with all of the games that he put on the hard drive. So I decided to add my own backup games. They downloaded onto the hard drive fine but whenever I try and play them the x-box reboots. Keep in mind that all of the other x-box games that my friend added work fine. What could be the problem. Do I need a patch or an upgrade or something. Keep in mind I am not a complete computer expert.

Thanks.

Upgrade your Bios to either the EvoxM7 or X2 4977 or I think there's a newer X2 bios but it just got released so I would wait to see if there are problems with it.

Thanks alot. Ok I downloaded EvoM7 and I also got some flash program to hook my xbox to my computer. But when I tried to hook it to my xbox and use the IP for my xbox I realized that on the main menu for Xecuter it said that the IP was 0.0.0.0 so how do I change my Bios?

You will need to make the bios the correct size for your chip using the X2 Bios Manager program. If you have the external programmer you can use that. Or you will need to FTP the bios to your C:\bios folder and use the EvolutionX dash to flash the chip.

With your IP address check here:

Thanks for the help. Well I now have my xbox hooked up with a crossover cable to my pc and am using Flash Fxp. It works great but when I downloaded the Bios EvoM7 and unzipped it there are 3 different things, one that says EvoxM7_ef.BIN and the other EvoxM7.BIN and one more that says EvolutionX M7 Bios. So do I use all of these? The first two are 257 KB and the last is 5kb. I just don't want to screw anything up.

Thanks again.

Hey, I was also wondering. How do I do this as easily as possible. I have the direct connection between xbox and pc. What software or hardware will I need to do this. I keep hearing things about keeping the switches down and how the .BIN file has to be 1024kb please tell me what I need to know so I don't screw anything up.

Thanks

Sorry I keep replying to my own messages but here is where I am. Ok, I have Flash Fxp on and I have the Bios manager. So I mixed the file EvoxM7.BIN 4 times so it was 1024kb. Now all that I have to do is drop it into my c drive on my xbox right? Then go on my dash where it says Flash Bios(keep switches down). Now what do I have to do to keep the switches down?

Ok, I did it myself (flash the bios) and it now works. Most of the new games that I couldn't play before are now working. There are some though like Matrix Reloaded that freeze during the loading screen. Could this mean that the game needs to be patched? I downloaded Craxtion and it works fine but I do not no what files need to be patched or how. If you can help then great.

Thanks

Also make sure your time & date are set correctly as this can freeze games at the start up screen.

this in game reset being set to no, does this mean that if I set mine to no, I can copy more of my xbox games onto my hdd? I am having trouble playing and copying true crime, and tony hawks underground. I don't have problems with any other games I have copied on, just these so far. I know my in game reset is set to yes so I can get out of one game if I want with holding down the R & L triggers and the 2 end black buttons at the same time to bring me back to my xbox game screen.

The matrix game needs a special patching because some of the file names are too long. The patch will rename the files and fix the default.xbe file to find the new files.
