Hello, I am trying to mod my elite. From the pics i found it looks like i have an hitachi. I have not opened it yet, so i dont know what version. My qestion is, will it be easier to mod my hitachi or just replace it with an already modded samsung ms25 extreme from my previous premium system. I used it online 4 days ago, all updates, playing online with backups. I got 3RLD. MS25 was so easy to flash. However, it seems these new drives are way tougher. Thanks!

Unless you're in the US and bought that Elite at launch, then you've got the Hitachi 79 (fl or fk) drive. And with that drive you would have to do some soldering before you could flash it.

Even to replace it with the Samsung, you'd first have to get the key off the Hitachi. And that still requires soldering.

Ok.Thanks for the fast response. Bad news for me. I hope they find an "easier" work around that does not require soldering. I guess im off to the pawn shops.
