Well, I have a bit of a problem.

I tried installing my Wiikey today, after I felt confident with soldering (I practiced for a while), but as you've seen before, my inexperience got the best of me.

(Wired installation)

Pads 1-4 went smoothly, but when I got to #5 I charred it off...and the same with 6.

My wii still works, but nothing is happening in terms of back-ups.

Does anyone know what pad 5/6 do? I have seen something about #5 being a ground, so that'd save me right there, but I'm not sure. I have no leads on #6.

Okay in leu of getting told how to search, I am hoping that someone could tell me what those pads are used for and to which alternative points they need to go.

Follow the trace and solder a wire from the wii key to the leg on the drive chip.

Wow, that is way too small for me to think about doing myself.

Are there any installers near Atlanta that will do the alernative solder points for me?
