Will a European PS 3 play in the US

I can get a European 60 GB PS3 for real cheap. Will it play here in the US, and will everything be in english?

it will but you will have to get a converter for the plug, here in the uk we use a three pin plug while its a 2 pin one in the us i think.

You will also have to get a converter so it can be displayed on your tv. American tvs are NTSC while European tvs are PAL. Yes things will be in English and you will be able to set up a US playstation network account. I live in the US and have a US ps3 but I have PSN accounts for every region.

if you have an lcd tv chances are it will display ntsc and pal, but check first to be sure, also zero, are the connections different on us ps3s, uk ones have the av cable with red, white and yellow, and you can stick them in your tv or connect a scart plug on the end is us the same?

There is also another point you should consider, the Euro ps3 will not be ably to run any movies bought from the states. They are simply region locked.

The seller claims it is NTSC and in english, apparently made for the US.

I am a little reluctant to be honest.

I dont understand that,the american ps3 is about half the price of the european one,it possibly could be that some idiot bought it from america on release day to make a profit on it on ebay and then couldnt sell it,or it could be from a region of europe that has ntsc and possibly its broke.
It could also be a japanese one and the english language has been selected on it.
My advice just buy an american one.

WHY do you need psn accounts for every region.Its not nessesary.
