My 360 was connected wirelessly to my newtowrk until recently. I've recently changed computeres, Now after using the computer and shutting it down, When i try to connect to LIVE the 360 fails the IP setting test. This never done this before. But when i remove the power from the wireless router and power it back on, it works again.

I have DHCP turned on, Set to automatic on the 360. I have the same problem with the Nintendo Wii . So I assume the problem is with the router or the computer, Although if i turn the computer on after the 360 is turned on everything works fine. Until the next time i use the computer before the 360. Everything worked fine before i got the new computer. (XP PRO)

Any ideas on how to fix this?

these kinds of errors happen with networking. power cycle the 360 or router will make it go through the handshaking again and get the correct numbers. Connecting the computer to your home network should not be the problem unless for some reason you programmed it to use a certain ip addy and that addy's already been assigned to your 360 by the router, can happen. Most likely the problem will disappear as fast as it appeared.

try setting the 360 up as a static connection rather than DHCP. It will give you a more stable connection at the least. Leave the PC set up as DHCP.

The only time i have really seen that sort of thing is with people in houses that have power surges which will mess up the router and cause you to have to reset it.

Also is connection sharing enable on this new PC your using?

Should it be turned on/off?
does it matter with wireless?

You mean the PC? If so then it should not matter. I can use the wireless router with the PC either on or off with no problems.

Finally sorted the problem, was the most simplest of things. The wireless router had somehow changed it's timezone? I simply just changed it back and now everything is fine.

Thanks
