My PSP is M33-3.52-4 and is fine, but since once in awhile I upgrade my custom firmware I am wondering if I should make a pandora battery before things go wrong.

Even if your pSP is fine did you bother doing the pandora thing?

Nope, I tend to take care of things when they go wrong. Stupid, I know, but I try to save money where ever I can. If I happen to come across a battery for free or really damn cheap then I'll make one.

Yeah, if I could find one at that price then I'd do it. What is the normal retail cost of an official Sony battery? Isn't it $25 or $30?

I've seen some after market batteries for cheap but I've heard that they don't give the flashing notification when they are about to die. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but that flashing indicator saved me yesterday when I was playing Final Fantasy VII and hadn't saved my progress in an hour. Do your after market batteries behave like the official ones? Low battery indicator and all?

Meh, I chose not to make one as the firmware updates have been stable thus far for me. I've never had a problem once where ive had a brick without meaning to. I had to try the battery just to see if it worked:)

I recommend you guys read up on "Boosters Multi IPL loader" or Dark Alex's "despertar cementerio" which are basically the same thing. They make it so that a Pandoras battery acts as a normal battery. When you hold down L it will boot into Pandora, if you have custom firmware R will load recovery, pressing nothing loads XMB as normal.
Saves having to get a second battery, and if you already have 2 then you got alot more battery life.
Better to be safe than sorry, as my Pandoras Battery installs straight into 3.71 m33-2 I use it nearly every day to get it back, Im still getting into PSP homebrew and am constantly downgrading/upgrading. Have yet to make a brick (other than the initial one before I got a battery) its always a possibility so Im prepared for the worst.

Also my cheapo battery wouldnt convert to a Pandora one, and the newer Sony ones supposedly cant either. So its best to use your original one combined with one of the things I mentioned earlier.

First I would like to thank all for the replies. Second I am going to make one pandora battery using my original one and using the "Pandora's Jigstick + Magic Memory Card Installer2".

Will I be able to use the pandora one as a normal ? If yes, everytime I want to use it as normal do I need the memory card inside the PSP also?

Just one last question: my version is M33 3.52-4, if I try to use the pandora battery as normal will it change the version of my firmware, even if I don't want to?

Thank you in advance for your help, this forum is a great source of knowledge :)

Does that really work? I figure I would have heard about that by now if its true.

Yep works perfect, I use it nearly every day. I cant remember if despertar cementerio does the same as the Multi IPL loader or if it just makes the Pandora's battery install 3.71 m33-2 instead of 1.5 . But having them both makes it alot easier to change between firmware at will. The pandora's battery can also install official 3.71 as well.
