I hav a psp phat and i upgraded my firmware from 2.80 to 3.71 and i wanted to know if i can upgrade to a custom firmware so i can play downloaded games?,,, i have been trying this for a long time and cannot get this right,,, can anyone help me step by step

first of, you are using official firmware of sony. and you cant play any iso games/hombrews downloaded to your memstick.. you need to go to custom firmware. and you will achieve it if you use the pandora's battery and the universal unbricker/downgrader. click here for some guide. and here

you should've stayed at 2.80. anything 3.51 or higher will need pandora's battery to downgrade.

you cannot upgrade straight to custom firmware. you need to downgrade to 1.50 first.
