Here's a strange one..

I can download and burn ISO wii backup files no problem using a NEC 3530A DVD drive, Verbatim media, slow burn speed and IMGburn s/w. THe problem is however if I try to copy a copy using IMG to read the file to disk and to write I get very few that work. Anyone got any ideas or reasons why this would happen. SUrely for copies I dont need an LG drive to read the files ?

Does it say disc read error? When I have made backups of my backups, I would put it in any drive, doesn't need to be the lg drive, use IMGBurn and create an iso from the backup. It will then rip it and make the iso. Then I tested the iso to make sure it works and it did. Is this different from the steps you are taking at all?

Thanks for response..tests/verify go fine so cannot see where the issue is. I am assuming it must be a read issue otherwise why would the files I download burn OK.

there are 2 variables you need to eliminate here

1. try a different drive to read the image onto your pc, reason, it can be ok at burning but not so good at reading, alternatively change the speed it attempts to read the disc.

2. try different brands of disc to burn the INITIAL iso too. I have had discs in the past that get burnt ok 1st time but dont appear to read very well to be copied a 2nd time. you dont say what brand you use so i cant comment.

I did mention media was Verbatim but fair point to try and read off another drive and slower..couldnt find this setting with IMGburn but will look again and report back. THanks for all the assistance here.
