Hello everyone, I was wondering if you might be able to advise me. I recently upgraded to custom firmware 3.40 oe, but certain torrent files wont run on my psp. Its not that absolutely none will, only certain ones. For example, if the file is a .cso file, its fine, if its in .rar, fine. However certain files dont exist as a single file but rather a multitude of smaller files (which I used hjsplit to join into one file). [Note: these files are not in .rar format, consisting of a series .001, .002, etc.] Here, I think, is the problem: the resulting joined file seems non-descript, it has no file extension and in properties is merely labelled FILE. I experimented by physically adding various file extension names but the file never runs. Only these files that are in pieces wont run. If it helps, I think they were originally to be used with Devhook, but is there a way to compile them into a single iso file? (when I right click and ask to view the contents of the file when its named as .rar, it says that there is indeed an iso inside, but when I attempt to extract it, every time when it reaches 5% I get, 'You need to have following volume...(filename.r00). ??? Can anyone help? (Apologies in advance if I have explained this cumbersomely!)

As far as I know, the latest build of winrar supports .01, .02 compression. www.rarlabs.com I was also told that a program called concat could work with this compression as well. Hope it helps. :]

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately the file sill wont play. As I said, the problem seems to be that when I join the various parts, I get a file thats simply undifferentiated: it has no file extension. I tried using winrar to archive each of the files (.001, etc), but when I try to extract them, they dont extract into one big file, just back nto the individual files (could it be a naming problem). Also, when I combine the files and then archive the combined file, then click on view, winrar tells me that there is indeed an iso file inside, that it is 777mb (the rar file is 500mb. Incidentally, when I click on the archive tab, there is a big pink bar at the side (which on working files is 100%, but on this is only 2%-could it be a bad file?). When I try to further extract this file, I get that same message, that a volume (.r00) is required and to use the disc that has it??? As i said, this file was originally intended for use with devhook. Sorry to ask so much, its just that I have a feeling that I have the file, I just need to get that iso out of the rar. Only files that are split up like this cause me problems, CSOs and ISOs have been no problem.

best thing to do is download a different torrent. if the files won't combine, download a different one, and hope it's iso/cso or rar
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10

@blmb download winRAR
go into the folder where u see the many smaller files.
find and run ONLY the file with extension .RAR
extract it wherever u want it and it auto combines the files.
now u can just put it into ur psp

Thank you, but that's just it, there IS no file with the extension .rar or any extension for that matter. There are simply 2z files, each 20mb, each simply labelled as FILE and its number, along with a small .sfv file. I have tried to archive them and then extract the archives into a single big file (mabye I labelled them wrongly) but to no avail?

Note: If it is a labelling error, I wonder what you should do. I archived the files into rars with winrar as I said, labelling the files as a-valkyr1.rar, a-valky2.rar, etc (originally they were a-valkyr.oo1, etc.), when I then went to extract them, expecting just what you said to happen, it still only extracted a-valkyr1.rar back into a-valkyr.001, and thus I was back where I started. Thats why I wonder if I've labelled them wrongly?

if you have files xxx.001 xxx.002 etc then start winrar, browse to the .001 file and click on the extract button in winrar...
it should automatically start extracting from .001 then .002 etc
you could also try 7zip, which should work the same way
1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4

Thank you so much, they work now, it was just a matter of extracting them correctly. As Little Kuriboh would say, they is so super-special-awesome! If I could just ask one more thing, do you know a good way to turn these iso files into cso files?
