went from 3.11 (ta-082) to 1.5...
then experienced some dimming, and black screen issues...
even while it was black, sounds were normal...
i then tried to upgrade to 3.52, screen went black & i gave it a few mins thinking its doing its thing...
i turned it off then back on...
nothing but a blank screen & a green light...
cant reset or even turn off!
can't even get into recovery...
so what can i do
swap motherboard, modchip?
has anybody out there bricked this hard?
what did u do to fix it?

thnx

like previous post said create pandoras battery and memory stick on another psp (or borrow) and use that. It will work.

If screen is black after just changing firmware keep pressing the screen brightness button next to the sound. Ive had this happen in the past and it sorted it out

hitting that button doesn't work in this case...
i believe i interrupted the upgrade to 3.52, when i turned it off thinking the upgrade was finished...
i believe now the screen went black while it was upgrading...
anybody else deal with this problem or would know how to resolve it?

ok guys...
im gonna create a pandora battery or try to :)
but let me ask this...
has anyone out there bricked this hard
and was able to recover it?
or not?
keep in mind that this has never happened to me...
every thread that i have read so far ppl were at least able to access the recovery mode when bricked... I can't!
maybe i shouldn't panic so much, i mean how much worse can i get
its already bricked (ha)
but seriously i would appreciate an answer

Its not "bricked hard", its just a standard brick that happens when something stuffs up the FLASH, happens when you interrupt an update. Others that are still able to access Recovery only have a semi-brick most of which are caused by people trying to flash custom themes etc, which can easily be fixed.

As mentioned create a Pandoras Battery using another PSP, it will fix it in no time.

hey i was able to create a pandora battery..
i have successfully unbricked the psp, thnx guys!
remember i said i bricked it by trying to upgrade?

well before i did that i successfully downgraded to 1.5.
the psp went dim after that then completely black.
i tried upgrading it and ended up bricking it.
After unbricking, the screen is still dim though, hitting the brightness button does nothing.
anybody else have this problem?

also i read somewhere, that a person solved this prob by upgrading.
can anybody attest to this?

thnx guys
