1. I've ordered a Pioneer 112D dvd burner and a samsung dvd-rom drive (sh-d162c) flashed with kreon v.1.0..

I havent bought a 360 yet but am about to.. I want to immediately start making backups of my game discs..

I understand I need to flash the harddrive and I still need to get a SATA/PCI card as my pc does not havea SATA port.

Questions:
1. The SATA/PCI card I by depends on which type of harddrive my 360 will have correct?

2. I am not interested in playing xbox live.. With that, what type of firmware do I want to install?

3. What software do I use to rip the games onto my pc's harddrive?

4. What sofware do I use to burn the ripped games onto my verbatim DL dics?

Seems like I'm finding a lot of info. about making backup discs off of downloaded games but I want to make backups of my original discs...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi, I hav enot flashed Toshiba/Samsungs so someone else better anser that.

You could still use iXtreme 1.2ver, I have and do not play online but games still update your Dashbord so I thought it might be wise.

I only backup original games and have not tried downloading so this is what I use:

Schtrom for ripping (or Xbox360 Backup Creator)
ImgBurn for writing

They make perfect stalth backups which of cours eis required by iXtreme! Oh and I use Verbatim too...

its not the hard drive that is flashed, its the dvd drive in the 360,
i also prefer to rip my games with xbc 2.4.

Oh my goodness. You can tell Im a beginner..

Im not sure what you meant about the DVD drive in the xbox that is flashed... I understand that.

Question, can you rip the games using the factory xbox dvd drive and save them to your PC's harddrive via the SATA cable connection? Hhus eliminating the purchase and installing of a samsung sh-d162c dvd-rom drive in your PC???

or am i WAY off base here?

I think that was possible but very inpractical. You need the Samsung so games can be ripped properly and stealthed. Only the Samsungs can be flashed with the Kreon firmware...

just so im correct here from what ive read, its the xbox dvd drive that gets flashed with either (extreme?) or ixtreme correct? I am not going to play xbox live so which do you recommend?

also, with the pioner 112d drive I bought, is there anything i need to do to it to prepare it for burning after I install it in my pc??

if your not going to play online than xtreme firmware is fine, but you are getting a kreon flashed drive so it dont matter.
the ixtreme firmware will only play stealthed games and the kreon drive will rip the games pre patched so if it was me i would go with ixtreme as you may want live before long.
as for the sammy drive flashed with kreon, all you need is a program that will work with it to rip the games and i recomend xbc 2.4.
there are others but i cant say anything about them as it is the only one i have tried but after diong so i have never had a need to try another, it works perfect. you also need to put the extra money in your dl dvd's and buy verbs, any dl media will work but verbs are the best,

syealth games are just that, there are files that are on the disk that are for security reasons, as of now m$ cant detect stealthed patched games.
as for the ixtreme firmware, you need to do the research and find out on your own, xbins is your clue.
