i have 2 360's one for me and one for my son, he has the premium with the hitachi and i have the core with the samsung both were flashed with the earliest firmwares...

my son has been banned from xbox live on the hitachi, i want to go on live with mine now (the samsung) i have 2 questions

1.can i use his hdd to go on live with or is that banned as well as his console ?

2.when i got mine flashed i never recieved the original firmware back, does this mean that i cannot reflash with the latest iextreme firmware ?

I don't know the answer to the first but since you can buy HDs, I cannot see why you couldn't use it. With Iextreme firmware (and all others I think) you get a restore option which can restore the drive back to it's original state and no you do not need your original firmware.
