what firmware are you on, if ur on any cfw up to 3.52 M33-4 you can use a recovery pack. however i dunt think it works on 3.71 M33, though im not sure.

HERE is a recovery pack. open the link and then find the recovery pack and right click and save target as... put the RECOVERY folder in GAME... you go to usb through recovery, and next time make a flash backup (if u didnt this time).

So, you can get into Recovery and you ran the recovery files? What does it say when you run it?

PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB

i'm on 3.52 m33-4 I downloaded the recovery pack from the link, then extracted the content to my p.c, I then placed the "recovery" folder into the "game" folder of my psp via the usb connection in recovery mode. The "E-boot" that was in the recovery folder i then re-named "UPDATE.pbp" as instructed, I then went to recovery menu on the psp and ran the " /psp/game/recovery/Eboot.pbp" and hit X . but all it did was Black screen and the memory light flashed,, any ideas

thanks again guys for your replys

Rename it back to EBOOT.PBP? The recovery is searching for an eboot, and you renamed it to update, so it can't find it to run it.

It does look like that could be your problem, you said when you tried to run it, the screen went black and the memory card light flashed a little. That's exactly what happened to me when i just tested to see what happens when there's nothing at that directory.

HI, i work with welchmatt, and we've been trying to work this out in work today... so here the instructions from the site we got the recovery pack from...
1.download the recovery pack
2.extract the content in the recovery pack onto the computer
3.place the "RECOVERY" folder into the game folder of your psp
4.obtain the 1.5 eboot. Rename it "UPDATE.pbp" and place it into the "RECOVERY" folder.
5.Go to the recovery menu on your psp by turning off your psp. Then hold the R trigger and thus turn on your psp and you will be at the recovery menu. It should look like a purple screen.
6.Go to the option "Run program as /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
7.hit X and the process of the downgrade will begin

ok

on line 4. it says obtain the 1.5 EBOOT and rename, i think this is where the re-naming confusion came in, does he need to get the OFW USA 1.5 upgrade .pbp file to use this recovery pack? or not?
if not , which firmware will he be on when he's recovered? back to 3.52 M33-4? or will he need to upgrade again?

Welchmatt says thank you very much for this help, im sure we can get it sorted!

right, i think i got it... someone please tell me if this ic correct... if you have downloaded and renamed and extracted all the nessesary files to use the recovery file from the recovery menu, this is what should be on your card ->

/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/decryptprx.prx
/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/extprxs.pbp
/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/libpsardumper.prx
/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/UPDATE.PBP (ADD THIS FILE YOUR SELF - RENAME 1.50 EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP

then run the \PSP\GAME\RECOVERY.EBOOT from the recovery menu.... correct? pease?

Go into Recovery Menu and toggle the USB and delete all the files you have already placed to the memory Stick (RECOVERY FOLDER and 1.50 EBOOT).

Now download this file HERE.

Extract the file and drag the RECOVERY folder to the /PSP/GAME folder. Do not rename anything.

Then select RUN PROGRAM AT /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP

All the files needed are included so this should work for you.

Hey guys, I'm trying to downgrade to 1.50 and upgrade like the rest, i get the same black screen as everyone else, it's odd when my screen save comes on i can see, sort of an inverted light thing. Anyways I used the file that was posted and that's when it went black like that. I'm going to try to format it again and see if i can get it back to normal.

i'm such a noob, thanks for the help.
