Okay, this is what I want to do. First, I already installed DVD Shrink 3.2. I put the dvd movie that i have, clicked Open, Full Disc because I want the entire movie there, then I saw to the left
Below I see a small box that shows the entire movie.
How do I now save this movie to my desktop?
I am going to use Windows Movie Maker to make a 4 min video of the movie that I have, using an mp3 song that is not part of the movie, just a seperate song I have in my mp3 player. I am going to cut parts of the movie that will make it last 4 mins.
Can someone please help me how to do this? First I need to know how to save this movie to my desktop? Can I view this movie on Windows Media Player because that's what it's supposed to do if I am going to make it on Windows Movie Maker. Also, under DVD Shrink, I do not see SAVE AS.
The Shrink part is easy. Select Hard Disk Folder under Target Device when you open Backup. That puts the output on the hard drive in file format. However, if you're only concentrating on your project and not transcoding (shrinking) the files, you can rip to the hard drive with DVDFab HD Decrypter (free). Normally a person working with a factory DVD has to bypass the copy protection with something other than Shrink anyway. The Shrink decryption is obsolete and something of a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Media player will play the ripped files. You'll have to open through an IFO or VOB file in the Video_TS folder. Media Player doesn't recognize BUP files. No idea how good it will be for your project. Shrink has some editing abilities, but if you're not familiar you'll need to read a guide or two. http://www.dvdshrink.info
